Big problems can often be solved with seemingly small gestures. Because sometimes it just takes a simple step to galvanize people to really make a difference. I believe that is what Andrew Tinning’s idea, “Green Unltd.” has the power to do. The judges and I loved the simplicity and the audacity of the idea. And we believe it is an idea that can make a world of difference. “Green Unltd.” can happen… if we want it to.

My congratulations goes to Andrew and everyone who participated in this competition. All of you made a difference.

In recent times there have been many wonderful campaigns and events that have highlighted the effects of global warming. There have been those that have been a call to action to do something on one single day to help make a difference.

The problem is much bigger than that. To have any real long term effect, people need to be empowered to take action on a daily basis. Saving the planet is a tough job, but somebody has to do it. And that somebody can be everybody. The task can seem overwhelming but when put into the context of a daily routine it seems a lot more accessible.

Jobs and work is something that most people can relate to. This is true whether you are self employed, employed or unemployed a student or a stay at home Mum or Dad. The core thought behind this idea is to create a global company as opposed to just another worthy cause.

It is one company with billions of employees who all have the same important job to do. In today’s world it is global companies that wield the power and the influence that is ultimately shaping our planet and our future. This is an opportunity to take them on at their own game and create a ripple effect that could potentially make the ultimate difference.
